Weaving meaningful solutions for the challenges of our times

Tapestry offers consulting services in the areas of food systems, housing, gender equity, non-profit capacity building and more. We provide support to our clients with research, facilitation, evaluation, project management, grant writing and community engagement. We work with nonprofits, Indigenous communities and organizations, and all levels of government.

We instigate innovative solutions to pressing issues and work toward resilient communities. We start by asking: What is our vision for the future? How can we work towards that vision in a tangible way?

WHO WE’VE WORKED WITH

  • Robyn and Bonnie were a pleasure to work with every step of the way!

They were knowledgeable, professional, patient, and most of all caring. Their passion for this project and for enhancing gender equity was apparent in their dedication. No aspect of this project was rushed or looked over, every approach was well thought out and initiated. I would happily choose to work with them again! Throughout our three years working alongside Tapestry, they have continued to provide guidance and support in numerous initiatives, ensuring projects met their goals and had real impact on the community and on gender equity. Overall, their involvement in the GEP provided us with the tools to and support we needed to bring the goals of this project to fruition.

  • Everyone wants their work to change the world, but often times change happens through deliberate, incremental steps.

Tapestry helped us to understand our assumptions and what was possible to achieve.

Tapestry helped us to understand the ‘why’ and ‘how’ of evaluation for this project, which intersects with a lot of complex systems and processes related to housing in Beaumont. Their team helped us to develop a logic model for the project that kept us on track and helped to understand whether what we thought we were going to accomplish was what the project was actually going to accomplish. Tapestry also helped to support our engagement efforts with community organizations and other stakeholders to ensure that feedback we received fed directly in to how we were approaching and delivering the project.

Krista and Robyn were always accessible, willing to jump in to support and facilitate conversations at key project points, and managed their project budget very effectively to deliver quality work. We’d definitely work with Tapestry again.

  • For three years I worked with Tapestry Collective Co-Op member Robyn McLean on the "Next Generation Naturalists" program.

Her role as an evaluator was to design a method of understanding the impact our youth environmental leadership program was having on the participants. Robyn worked with several researchers to develop an evaluation rubric tool that focused on 7 domains of personal growth. We were able to better understand how and why our activities were helping these participants, as well as make adjustments in our offerings to address any gaps. With Robyn's help, we were able to make our program much more responsive to participants' needs. It was an amazing experience working with Robyn, with her experience and wisdom she was able to bring a strategic clarity to the program.

  • For two years I worked with Tapestry Collective Co-Op member Bonnie Klohn on the "Everyone Eats" program.

Bonnie, in her role as evaluator, suggested an innovative approach of using an art evaluation technique to better understand how youth were experiencing these classes. Bonnie was also supportive of other aspects of the program, including planning and mentorship of student researchers who were involved in this work. With her help, the program was able to stay on track and meet all our reporting benchmarks. Bonnie is always a valued addition to a team!

  • Lindsay has had a long-standing relationship with KFPC and has been a valuable asset and mentor for our team.

In 2024, Lindsay led and facilitated a series of mentorship workshops for the staff team for the first time at KFPC. The content for these workshops was crafted by Lindsay after engaging in multiple in-depth conversations with the team to gain a comprehensive understanding of the existing gaps within our rapidly expanding organization. As a result, the workshops were well received, and dynamic discussions took place among the team during the workshops. The "train the trainer" format of these workshops has empowered our staff for future events and the onboarding of new members. Through these workshops, we have gained access to powerful resources to navigate the complex nature of nonprofits and gained more clarification on the horizontal leadership model and team members' roles.

Lindsay’s strong leadership has helped our team to see problems as opportunities to grow and learn, resulting in tangible improvements in our teamwork efficiency. Thank you, Lindsay! We truly appreciate the Tapestry team for their efforts in building a strong relationship with our team and always going above and beyond to support us!
